Root Canal Treatment

One of the most common dental procedures performed, root canal therapy is a simple treatment that can save your natural teeth, and prevent the need for dental implants or bridges.

At the centre of your tooth is pulp, which is a collection of blood vessels that helps to build the surrounding tooth. Infection of this pulp can be caused by trauma to the tooth, deep tooth decay, cracks, chips, or repeated dental procedures. Symptoms of infection can include visible injury of the tooth, swelling of the gums, sensitivity to temperature, and quite often pain in the tooth and gums.

If you experience any of these symptoms, your dentist will most likely recommend non-surgical treatment to eliminate the diseased pulp, as opposed to tooth extraction. The injured pulp is removed, and the root canal system is thoroughly cleaned
