The dedicated and passionate Darling Dental team is committed to ensuring you are relaxed and comfortable, and that your every need is
attended to during your visit with us. It is our goal to ensure you are completely at ease and enjoy your visit to our practice. We have an
open communication policy, and we’re honest and upfront about treatments and associated costs so you’re never left in the dark.
Paul grew up in Gunnedah and completed his undergraduate Dental Degree from Sydney University in 1987. He then spent time working at Westmead Hospital, Royal Newcastle Hospital and the United Dental Hospital in Sydney, completing his Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 1992. Paul moved to Tamworth in January 1993 and commenced practice with Dr Bruce Stewart in Fitzroy St. In December 2006 the Practice moved to Darling St and was further renovated in 2012.
Paul has worked in all fields of Dentistry and pursued further Post Graduate education in both Orthodontics and Implant Dentistry. As the principal of Darling Dental he engages in all the different specialities of Dentistry, including particular interests in Preventative Dentistry, Oral Surgery and Orthodontics.
Away from work and family, Paul is kept busy being a charter member of the Rotary Sunrise Club, he is also both an examiner and mentor
for candidates studying for membership of the FRACDS, a novice road cycler, a keen fan of cricket, and a Rugby referee for nearly 30 years,
contributing to his undying passion for the game.
Dr Michael Jonas BDS (Syd) Bsc Dip Ed (Ncle)
Michael Jonas graduated from The University of Sydney in 1980, Bachelor of Dental Science after completing a Bachelor of Science and Diploma of Education from Newcastle University. Dr Jonas has served with the Australian Dental Association, NSW branch and has been elected to their Council, serving on the Executive Committee and their Board; as well as the Dental Practice Committee and the Constitution and Ethics Committee. He also chaired the Board of the Centre for Professional Development, the continuing education arm of the Australian Dental Association (NSW Branch), and is a Divisional Leader for the North West Dental Regional Meetings.
At a national level, Dr Jonas has been a member of the Rural Oral health Advisory Panel, a committee tasked with advising the National
body of the Australian Dental Association on dental issues related to people living in rural and remote regions of Australia. Dr
Jonas is a member of the Australian Society of Endodontology and the ITI (international Team for Implantology). His
professional interests cover the whole range of dental disciplines. For recreation, Michael is a keen pilot and
motor cycle rider.
Jeremiah grew up and attended school in Parkes, located in the Central West of NSW. During his training he worked in a variety of locations spanning from the Oral Health Clinic based at Nepean Hospital, to areas of remote NSW with the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Upon graduating, Jeremiah was employed by the dental school at Charles Sturt University where he worked in private practice, tutored students in a preclinical and clinical setting and conducted research to gain his honours degree. Jeremiah loves all aspects of dentistry and finds the trust and relationships he builds with his patients one of the most rewarding facets of the profession. Outside of work Jeremiah loves travelling, playing soccer and spending time with his family and friends.
Dr Madison Macpherson BDSc (CSU) BBus (SCU)
Madison grew up on a grazing property near Goondiwindi, Queensland and continues to share her passion for farming and country life. Maddison had a diverse career in business before realising she had a desire to be involved in healthcare. She returned to the student lifestyle and studied Dentistry at Charles Sturt University in Orange, NSW. Madison is driven to close the health care gap between urban and regional populations and has worked in dental clinics in both regional and remote communities throughout Queensland, Western New South Wales and The Kimberley's. Madison is excited to work with the renowned team at Darling Dental and provide quality dental services to the Tamworth district. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her beautiful family and friends. Madison is a keen marathoner and novice baker to help make up the calories!
Amanda grew up in Sydney and started her career off as a dental nurse at Westmead Dental Hospital in 2006. She then decided to further her career and headed off to Newcastle University and studied to become a Dental Hygienist. After 3 years at University, Amanda was enjoying the student life so much she extended her course into Dental Therapy. With both degrees, Amanda is a qualified Oral Health Therapist. She enjoys being able to take care of all of our patients, especially the children, while continuing the hygiene program at Darling Dental.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her Fiancé and their two fur babies Koda and JoJo (if you haven’t already heard about them=)). She is also a keen traveller and enjoys being fit and healthy.
